Tourism Websites on Simpleview CMS

A large part of my experience at Simpleview was when I was a Senior Designer on their Experience Design team. The designer would work with the client’s branding and design the website experience using modules that are built into the Simpleview CMS—tailored to the tourism industry.

Each designer was responsible for the UI and UX. The different stages of the design process would go from researching the destination (sometimes traveling for onsite visits) to wireframing, style guides, and high-fidelity prototypes. A client would have milestone meetings and depending on the scope of the project could involve a collaboration of an art director, creative director, and at times multiple designers.

Approved designs would be handed off to CMS development teams that would implement the design elements into Simpleview’s proprietary CMS. As a lead designer, I would often meet with lead developers to collaborate on the design processes and development of the websites following ever-evolving best practices.

The standard deliverables included in these types of projects would include hi-fi prototypes (desktop and mobile) of:

• homepage

• listing page

• listing detail page

• content page

• additional bespoke interactive elements

With the normal shelf life average of 3-5 years for these website designs, many of my award-winning designs have already been redesigned to follow new marketing directives and the evolution of web standards.
